The GB drive is no longer reconized in any fashion on this PC. I’ll post more tomorrow after I have a chance to babysit with the install The drive maker should also have a utility to wipe the drive as well and you can load this onto the Boot CD or just make a Floppy and change Floppies once you have the SATA drivers installed. I then plugged the drive into a friends computer and backed-up my data.. Posted 25 September –

Easy part is getting windows loaded. I used the old one, exactly the one which works with win XP installation.

Only way to restart the PC is to turn the PS off on the back or remove the power plug Either way that is fixed. I do believe it is being reconized now. I don’t know that particular board, but I’m guessing from the model it’s an nvidia.
A little later, you will be prompted to install the drivers. When you boot from an XP installation CD, what exactly happens?

I don’t know that you will lose any noticeable performance but this is my least favorite method. I now have a replacement mobo and new watt PSU. The GB drive is no longer recognized in any fashion on this PC. It should be easily achievable. Ive checked the BIOS and everything seems to be in order there. Windows 7 IT Pro.
Only problem seems to be nforce2 drivers.
With one drive, you don’t want it set for RAID. Thanks for all your help 0 Votes. The GB drive was listed there.
